<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable and high performance optical module wherein the warp of a substrate caused by a temperature change is suppressed, the displacement of a light emitting point of an optical element is prevented, and the change of an optical coupling state is made small between the optical element and an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: This optical module comprises a substrate 3, a submount 2 mounted on one surface of the substrate, an optical element 1 mounted on the submount, an optical fiber 5 optically coupled to the optical element and mounted on one surface of the substrate, and a temperature compensating block 7 mounted on the other surface of the substrate. The relative position between the optical element and the optical fiber is compensated by the temperature compensating block when a temperature change occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
