<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device capable of performing a proper steering assist by judging an intra-pump leak without providing any sensing device dedicated therefor. <P>SOLUTION: It is judged whether an intra-pump leak exists or not through such a process that the steering torque Tn near the rack end at the time of turning the steering wheel stationarily is compared with the initial value T<SB>o</SB>of the steering torque under the same conditions, and if it is judged that leak exists, the pump discharge amount is corrected incrementally by correcting the drive current of an electric motor 6a incrementally so that the steering torque Tn becomes identical to the initial value T<SB>o</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
