PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high speed processing by efficiently using a halftone pattern for a plotting object being the same tone value, and to reduce the capacity of a halftone pattern memory by successively searching the shift value of the horizontal direction of the halftone pattern for every plotting word. SOLUTION: This image processor is provided with a halftone threshold storage device 216 for storing the halftone threshold of halftone patten X width for Y width of the halftone pattern, a halftone pattern memory 227 for storing the halftone patten of plotting word X width for the Y width of the halftone pattern, a halftone pattern generating device 231 for performing gradation processing with the halftone threshold, a halftone pattern address generating device 221 for generating the halftone pattern address value from the Y value of a horizontal line, a halftone pattern shift value generating device 226 for generating the halftone pattern shift value from the X value of the horizontal line and a cyclic shift device 228 for performing the cyclic shift for the halftone pattern shift value with the halftone pattern.
