PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording disk control information for a recordable optical disk, especially method for recording speed information and recording strategy information for every speed in a disk control information. SOLUTION: The method for recording control information on a recording medium which has one or more recording layers includes a step for providing control information and a step for recording the control information on a specific area of a recording medium. The control information includes one or more recording speed flags for indicating whether one or more recording speeds can be applicable to the recording layer and write strategy information which respectively depends on the applicable recording speeds.
