PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer support member and a buffer support structure capable of achieving high assembling workability, and preventing a reduction in buffer effects as much as possible, and a portable terminal, regarding a buffer support member for supporting an electronic device while protecting it from shocks, a buffer support structure for supporting the electronic device by using the buffer support member, and a portable terminal configured by housing the electronic device in a device casing by the buffer support structure. SOLUTION: The buffer support member of an electronic device is provided with a flat platelike base, and a support projection erected in the base to support the electronic device. An opening is formed in the base part of the support projection of the base to release the surroundings of the support projection. In the buffer support structure which abuts, by using the buffer support member configured by erecting the support projection in the flat platelike base, the electronic device on the support projection of the buffer support member to support it, an opening is formed in the base part of the support projection in the base of the buffer support member to release the surroundings of the support projection.
