PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reliably find and prevent frauds that cause wrong recognition of the feeding of medals with a fraudulent apparatus, and accurately detect the number of medals received, even if they are of small diameter. SOLUTION: In a medal selector which is equipped with a count sensor part 18 for detecting a medal 5, passing through a medal passage 8, and for outputting a detection signal corresponding to the received quantity, and guides the counted medals to the receiving part on the downstream side, the count sensor part 18 comprises a light-emitting element 18d disposed on one outer sides of the medal passage, and two light-receiving elements 18b, 18c disposed on the other outer sides that can receive the light of the light-emitting element. The two light-receiving elements are displaced in the direction perpendicular to the medal passage, and are overlapped with each other along the medal passage, in the range where the light to each light-receiving element is not blocked.
