PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new organic bismuth compound and its production method. SOLUTION: The bismuth compound is expressed by general formula (I). A bismuth compound having a certain ring-like organic skeleton and a leaving group is reacted with a metal hydroxide or a metal alkoxide, and thereby a bismuth hydroxide a bismuth oxide, and a bismuth alkoxide having a ring-like organic skeleton, are obtained.
