PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair rinse composition that softens the hair, smoothes the hair surface, improves combing property, provides the hair with gloss, suppresses dryness of the hair even in a dry atmosphere and has an excellent long-lasting effects on hair setting. SOLUTION: The hair rinse composition comprising a fatty acid amidopropyldimethylamine represented by general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>-CO is a fatty acid residue having≥60 mass% ratio of≥22C fatty acid residue in the total fatty acid residue), a 14-24C long-chain alkyl group-containing higher alcohol and a diester represented by general formula (II) (R<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>7</SP>are each a hydrogen atom or the same or different 6-22C straight-chain fatty acid, branched-chain fatty acid, hydroxy fatty acid or unsaturated fatty acid; n is an integer of 2-10; all the R<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>7</SP>are not hydrogen atoms) of a fatty acid diglycerin and a saturated dibasic acid.
