PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control device identifying an abnormal state, in a fuel injection device applying boosted power supply voltage to a capacitor and outputting a discharge current of the capacitor to a fuel injection valve of a multicylinder internal combustion engine so as to open the fuel injection valve. SOLUTION: When there is an abnormality that a detection value of current flowing in the fuel injection valve does not exceed a threshold value (a step S10: NO), idling drive wherein a drive pulse in a short time where the fuel is not injected from the fuel injection valve is applied to the fuel injection valve more than once, after fuel cut processing is performed (a step S12). Since consumption of the discharge current of the capacitor in short circuit between the fuel injection valve and the grounding is larger than that in a case of disconnection, the detection value of the current flowing in the fuel injection valve of a normal cylinder is also less than the threshold value. Depending on the detection values of the current in the idling drive processing, the discrimination between the short circuit (a step S18) and the disconnection (a step S22) is performed.
