A display device is provided to reduce a manufacturing cost and to simplify a manufacturing process by using gas including nitrogen. A first and second substrates(110,120) are disposed opposite to each other in order to form a plurality of cells(114) therebetween. An electron acceleration emission unit is disposed between the first and second substrates in order to accelerate electrons. The cells are filled with gas including nitrogen. The gas is excited by the electrons emitted from the electron acceleration emission unit in order to generate ultraviolet rays. A light emission layer(115) is excited by the ultraviolet rays in order to generate visible rays. The light emission layer is disposed on an external side of the first substrate or the second substrate. The electron acceleration unit includes a first and second electrodes(131,132) disposed between the first and second substrates and a first electron acceleration layer(140) in order to emit the electrons into the cells while voltages are applied to the first and second electrodes.
