A method for blocking display of unnecessary messages in a computer system and a computer-readable recording medium thereof are provided to remove user inconvenience by blocking an unnecessary rebooting message or a message window for guiding playback of unnecessary multimedia to a user when a USB(Universal Serial Bus) drive storing various kinds of files including a multimedia file is connected to the computer system. A routine for blocking the display of the unnecessary message is executed(S12). The routine monitors generation of an event(S13). The routine determines whether the generated event is the event for displaying the message to be blocked. If the generated message is the event for the displayed message to be blocked, the routine blocks a path for transferring the event(S14). The message to be blocked is the rebooting message, a file viewer message, and an auto-run message according to connection of an external device.
