<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system using a web log capable of browsing by properly extracting posted article information related to previously set categories. <P>SOLUTION: A Ping site 4a or the like for storing the posted article information is equipped with a category-based database D4 in which keywords related to the categories are registered for each of the previously set categories. Then, the Ping site 4a or the like determines whether or not recorded items of the posted article information transmitted from the Web site 2 include the keywords previously registered in the category-based database D4. The category registered in the category-based database D4 is added to the posted article information by corresponding to the keywords regarding the posted article information which is determined that it includes the previously registered keywords.
