PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform transition driving by suppressing waveform rounding, while attaining stable image display. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a counter voltage output device for a liquid crystal panel, having a liquid crystal layer which can be spray-aligned or bend-aligned, the counter voltage output device having transition drive voltage input terminals 651a and 651b which are applied with a transition drive voltage for changing a liquid crystal panel from spray alignment to bend alignment, a normal display voltage input terminal 653 which is applied with a normal display voltage, an output terminal 654 connected to the counter electrode of the liquid crystal panel, a ground connection terminal 101 connected to the grounding end through a capacitor 657, and selector switches 656a and 656b which control which of the normal display voltage input terminal 653 and the ground connection terminal 101, and the transition drive voltage input terminals 651a or 651b is connected to the output terminal 654.
