PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travelling carriage improved in stability when travelling. SOLUTION: The travelling carriage for travelling along a travelling line is provided with a vertical guide roller 5, a holding force computing section 8, and a holding force adjusting section 9. The vertical guide roller 5 abuts on a guide rail 3 provided along the guide line from a vertical direction. The holding force computing section 8 computes the holding force for holding the vertical guide roller based on the travelling condition.
