PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic fishing rod suppressing stickings at its engagement part. SOLUTION: The shaking-type fishing rod is such as to form an engagement part functioning to keep a small-diameter rod portion 5 in an extended state relative to a large-diameter rod portion 6, wherein the engagement part is composed of the inner circumferential surface 6A of the tip of the large-diameter rod portion 6 and a large-diameter expanded part 5A formed on the butt end of the small-diameter rod portion 5, while the butt end of the large-diameter expanded part 5A is arranged with a large-diameter engagement part 5b wrapped with a nonwoven fabric soft prepreg sheet material.
