Window unit e.g. for aircraft with shading and lighting functions

The window unit (1) has a window pane which is coated with an electrically actuatable shading device to reduce incidental light penetrating through the window pane (2). A control unit (5) operates a shading mechanism (4), and a lighting device (7) produces a light effect in the region of the window unit. The control unit has an interface, via which it is connected to a network system of the aircraft for operation of the shading device. The lighting device is coupled with the control unit, to operate it with the network system of the aircraft via the interface (6) of the control unit. An independent claim is included for an aircraft.
