A human body communication system and a method thereof are provided to perform efficient human body communication by adjusting transmission power, outputted from a controlling device, according to a distance between a device, to be controlled, and the human body. A human body communication system comprises a device to be controlled(230) and a controlling device(210). The device to be controlled measures electric capacity in accordance with a distance away from a human body(270), and transmits information on the measured electric capacity via a wireless medium(250). The controlling device receives the information on the measured electric capacity, determines transmission power based on the received information, and transmits a user control instruction to the unit to be controlled via the human body by using the determined transmission power.
