A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve uniformity and reproducibility by forming repeatedly conductive layers and insulating layers on substrates. A display device includes two substrates(201,202), a plural pairs of electrodes(203) formed within the substrates, dielectric layers(206,209) for burying the pairs of electrodes, a barrier rib(210) disposed between the substrates in order to define cells, and a light emitting layer formed within the barrier rib. A method for manufacturing the display device includes a process for preparing the substrates including the electrodes and the dielectric layers for covering the electrodes and a process for forming an electron emission element for accelerating and discharging electrons within a space by forming repeatedly conductive layers(212a,212c) and insulating layers on the substrates.
