PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing a condensation elimination operation according to the condensation of a developer taking place within a development device. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus for performing the condensation elimination operation to eliminate the condensation of a developer taking place within a development device 12 for housing the developer including a toner, acquires index information relating to the degree of condensation of the developer within the development device 12 and adjusts the execution time of the condensation elimination operation based on the acquired index information.
