PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk recorder capable of securing a storage capacity of a hard disk exactly in accordance with user's intention. SOLUTION: Data of a broadcast program recorded on a hard disk 13 is reproduced (Step #15). When the reproduction of the data of the broadcast program is completed (Step #20), the data of the broadcast program is moved to an area for erasure of the hard disk 13 (Step #25). When the data of the broadcast program is moved to the area for erasure of the hard disk 13, an input to select propriety of erasure is requested (Step #30) for the data of the broadcast program in the area for erasure. When permission for the erasure is input according to the request (Step #35), the data of the broadcast program is erased from the area for erasure of the hard disk 13 (Step #40).
