PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router which can achieve the cut to a specified depth merely by fixing a stopper pole to a main body, in a position of the stopper pole where the digital display is equal to the cut depth, regardless of whether or not a power supply is switched to the OFF position halfway, provided that a zero setting operation is performed when a router cutting knife is fitted. SOLUTION: An absolute position detector is used as a detection means for detecting a position of the stopper pole 9 to the main body 4. In addition, a means is provided to enable displaying a relative position which is determined by resetting an arbitrary position of the stopper pole 9 and store the value of the absolute position detector which represents the relative position as the reset position.
