PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projector for displaying high quality images by a thin composition by arranging each optical element at high positional precision. SOLUTION: The rear projector includes an optical engine part for supplying light corresponding to an image signal, a screen for emitting light corresponding to the image signal, and a casing storing at least the optical engine. The casing includes a front part 21, and a structure 22 for fixing the front part 21 and the optical engine part.
