[Also in Division B8] A harvest-threasher utilises the same conveyer means for filling and discharging the hopper and includes a horizontal screw conveyer 5 at the bottom of the machine, co-acting with a vertical screw elevator 8, which connects with either a distribution duct 13 or a horizontal screw conveyer 10, both of which are rigidly attached to a swivelling turret 9. Cylinder 15 with aperture 17 rotatably mounted inside the turret connects either the distribution duct 13 or the screw conveyer 10 to the vertical screw elevator 8. Movement of the cylinder 15 is controlled by cylinder and piston unit 18. In operation the harvested grain enters the conveyer screw 5 from the bottom of the machine and is fed up the elevator 8 and projected by the radial blades 14 into the distribution duct 13 and hence into the hopper 4 and grain bins 2, 3. Even distribution of the grain is achieved by pivoting the turret 9 from a position in which the duct 13 extends at right angles to the longitudinal line of the machine to a position where the duct 13 is parallel to it. From the latter position, by opening the trap valves 6, 7 and altering the position of cylinder 15, the grain may be discharged through screw conveyer 10.</p> |
