PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inserting a seedling stock solving the following problem: too much water capacity of culture soil results in that muddy water seeps out into a seedling-stock insertion hole made with a borer from the surrounding culture soil and the hole position becomes hard to be found and the seedling-stock insertion work gets hard to be performed; and the culture soil gets too soft to sufficiently hold the inserted seedling stock by the culture soil and the posture of the seedling could get unstable in the worst case. SOLUTION: The method for inserting a seedling stock comprises charging culture soil 3 in a seedling raising container 2, pouring water in the seedling raising container 2 so that the water capacity of the charged culture soil 3 gets≤70 wt.% of the maximum water capacity of the culture soil 3, making a seedling-stock insertion hole 8 in the culture soil 3 in the seedling raising container 2, and inserting the stock of a seedling 1 into the hole 8.
