A method for manufacturing a matte glass substrate is provided to obtain a mass glass substrate that has irregularities capable of scattering reflected light, allows users to clearly recognize the content written on the glass substrate and permits the content written on the glass substrate to be easily erased. A method for manufacturing a matte glass substrate comprises the steps of: mixing 75-97 parts by weight of low-melting point glass powder having a melting point of 480-600 deg.C with 3-25 parts by weight of high-melting point glass powder having a melting point of 580-740 deg.C or glass microspheres and 10-40 parts by weight of a vehicle to provide a frit composition; applying the frit composition to one surface of a glass substrate to a thickness of 10-40 micrometers; and heat treating the glass substrate at a temperature between the high melting point and the low melting point.
