PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap fastener attaching machine (automatic machine) optionally usable as a semiauto machine of manually feeding a rivet member having different color and different length of protrusion, and capable of extremely improving the efficiency of a snap fastener attaching operation to clothes. SOLUTION: The snap fastener attaching machine is constituted so that when a hitting tool 9 stops at the upper end of a lifting and lowering stroke, a pusher 21 stops at the position retreated by a short distance from the front end of a reciprocal stroke sending the fitting member B to the hitting tool 9 and the rivet member A to a receiving tool respectively to form a space S<SB>2</SB>between a plate part 21b for pressing at the lower side of the pusher 21 and the rivet member sent into the receiving tool.
