PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transportation direction conversion device capable of easily converting a transportation direction of a continuously transported cable drum and a shock absorbing member eliminating requirement for laying a protection plate on a floor surface when the cable drum is indoor-moved utilizing the present device for rolling the cable drum of high weight by pressing it by human power when the cable drum of high weight is transported along a linear route with limited width and installed at a direction conversion position only when the transportation direction is converted. SOLUTION: The transportation direction conversion device 1 for the cable drum 30 provided with a body part 31 wound with a cable and disc-like flange parts 32 provided on both axial ends of the body part is provided with a device body 10 provided with a disc-like rotation base 3 for placing/rotating the two flange parts of the cable drum and a base part 11 for rotatably supporting the rotation base; and a slope base 20 provided with an inclined surface 21 detachably abutted on an appropriate position of an outer peripheral edge of the device body and leading-in/out the cable drum to/from the rotation base.
