PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary ceiling and a construction method of a roof space using the temporary ceiling suitably applicable to a narrow space such as a corridor or a passage in repair work and extension work for the roof space and ceiling equipment disposed in the roof space, and constructible without interfering the daily use of the corridor or the like and moreover simple in device constitution. SOLUTION: The temporary ceiling comprises a base unit 3 suspended from a roof or a floor and detachably supported to a ceiling backing material 1 disposed in the roof space C, and mountable with the ceiling equipment 2; locking parts 4 provided at the base unit; and a temporary ceiling material 6 with one end detachably locked to the locking part of the base unit and with the other end detachably fixed to a wall W of the passage 5 to shield the roof space.
