PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect wipers at a windshield or rear window of a vehicle during washing the vehicle with a washing machine. SOLUTION: This wiper protection device 40 detects the shape of an upper contour 62 of a vehicle 60 in a longitudinal direction 61 with an optical sensor 23, controls a position in a vertical direction of a washing brush 30 to the position of the longitudinal direction 61 of the vehicle 60 based on the detected result, and protects the wiper 64 and the like of the windshield 63 of the vehicle 60 when the vehicle 60 is washed by the washing machine 10 for washing a portion of the upper contour 62 of the vehicle 60 with the washing brush 30. The wiper protection device 40 has a body 41 and a suction cup attached at the lower portion of the body 41, the suction cup can be detachably attached at the outer surface of the windshield 63, and the body 41 interrupts the light of the optical sensor 23 at the upper portion of the wiper 64 and the like of the windshield 63 when the suction cup is attached at the outer surface of the windshield 63 adjacent to the wiper 64.
