PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter capable of properly carrying out the insertion and extraction of a needle to a paper pot seedling. SOLUTION: The paper pot seedling separation part 12 of the transplanter has a restriction member 31 contacting with the front face of a paper pot seedling 2 at the front end in the transfer direction of aligned paper pot seedlings 1 and a mobile member 34 having a needle and capturing the paper pot seedling 2 in cooperation with the restriction member 31. The paper pot seedling separation part 12 is further provided with a needle insertion means 71 to insert a needle 33 into the front end paper pot seedling 2 of the aligned paper pot seedlings 1 based on the transfer direction by moving the mobile member 34 interlocked with the motion of the mobile member in the insertion of the needle. The paper pot seedling separation part 12 has a needle extraction means 72 to extract the needle 33 from the separated paper pot seedling 2 by moving the mobile member 34 interlocked with the mobile member in the extraction of the needle.
