<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint verification device by which the size of a lens can be reduced as well as improving the resolution of the surrounding area of a fingerprint image. <P>SOLUTION: The fingerprint verification device has a light source 1 emitting light from the nail of a finger 2, a curved surface reflecting mirror 3b reflecting the light passing through the finger 2, a lens 4b collect the reflected light from the curved surface reflecting mirror 3b, and a photographing element 5 acquiring a fingerprint image by forming an image from the light collected by the lens 4b, the curved surface reflecting mirror 3b is arranged so as to collecting the light extending over the surrounding are of the finger. The lens 4b has magnifying power according to the image shrinking mechanism of the curved surface reflecting mirror 3b. Thus, the resolution becomes constant and the extraction of the feature data of the finger print appearing in the ridge line is stabilized, so that the verification property is stabilized high. Further, the magnification power of the lens can be reduced according to the image shrinking mechanism of the curved surface reflecting mirror 3b, thereby enabling a reduction in the size of the lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
