<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission ratio variable device capable of performing more stable steering operation. <P>SOLUTION: A microcomputer 61 is equipped with a catching detection part 72 as a detection means for detecting the catching of the foreign matter in a wave-motion gear mechanism. A catching detection signal Ss output by the catching detection part 72 is input into a lock control part 71.
