PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress theft of a display or the like by raising a threatening alarm from a place distant from the display or the like. SOLUTION: The theft prevention system comprises a theft prevention tag 1 with a battery power source 13a attached to each display or the like, which wirelessly transmits abnormality data and individual identification data when it is separated from the display or the like; a threatening report device 2 set in an unaccessible place, which retains, upon receipt of the abnormality data and individual identification data, an abnormal state until an alarm reset is inputted from the outside, raises a threatening alarm and transmits a report thereof; and a central monitoring device 3 set in a building having a regular monitoring person, which stores individual identification reference data in association with specification information for display or the like, compares, upon receipt of abnormality data and individual identification data from the threatening report device, the individual identification data with the individual identification reference data, raises an alarm to the outside when individual identification reference data matched thereto is included, and displays the information specifying display or the like associated with the individual identification reference data.
