<p>A waste outlet fitting (10) is provided for connection between a waste outlet (12) and a drain pipe. The fitting (10) includes a main tubular member (16) having an open top end, adapted to be attached to the waste outlet (12) and act as a water inlet for the fitting (10). The fitting (10) further includes a water outlet (18), located at a side wall of the main tubular member (16) and adapted to be connected to the drain pipe. The main tubular member (16) includes a dividing wall (24) arranged within the main tubular member (16). The dividing wall (24) extends along a substantial length of the main tubular member (16) and terminates with a bottom portion above a base portion (26) of the main tubular member (16). In this arrangement, a space is provided between the bottom portion and the base portion (26) of the main tubular member. The dividing wall (24) defines a water passage from the water inlet , down one side of the dividing wall (24) to the base portion (26) and then from the base portion (26) up the other side of the dividing wall (24) to the water outlet (18). Effectively, a water trap is formed in the water passage between the water inlet and the water outlet (18). Additionally, the base portion (26) is adapted to be removable from the main tubular member (16), in order to empty the water trap and provide access within the main tubular member (16) while the main tubular member (16) remains attached to the waste outlet (12).</p> |
