<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of recovering fuel cell power generation performance degraded by poisoning, by removing catalyst poisoning of an oxidizer electrode caused by impurities in the atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system 1 is provided with a fuel cell comprising a membrane composed by respectively arranging, on both surfaces of an electrolyte membrane, a catalyst layer and a gas diffusion layer of a fuel electrode 2, and a catalyst layer and a gas diffusion layer of the oxidizer electrode 3 for generating power by receiving supply of a fuel gas and an oxidizer gas to the fuel electrode 2 and the oxidizer electrode 3, respectively. In the fuel cell system, the moisture content of the oxidizer electrode 3 of the fuel cell is set above a predetermined value; a catalyst activity recovery means 100 for recovering catalyst activity by an electrochemical process is provided; and, in the catalyst activity recovery means 100, the potential of the oxidizer electrode 3 is set higher than natural potential for a predetermined period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
