<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch capable of prolonging its idling wear life and its meshing fatigue life. <P>SOLUTION: The one-way clutch 1 comprises an inner ring 2, an outer ring 3 arranged around the inner ring 2 coaxially with the inner ring 2, a pair of deep grooved ball bearings 4, 4 arranged between the inner ring 2 and the outer ring 3 for supporting the inner and outer rings 2, 3 in a relatively rotatable manner, and a clutch mechanism part 6 arranged adjacent to the pair of deep grooved ball bearings 4, 4. The clutch mechanism part 6 has an annular space 7 formed between a raceway surface 2b of the inner ring 2 and a raceway surface 3b of the outer ring 3 opposite to the raceway surface 2b of the inner ring 2, a plurality of rocking sprag 8 arranged in the annular space 7 at circumferential spaces, and a gutter spring 9 for energizing an inside cam face 8a and an outside cam face 8b of each sprag 8 to come into contact with the raceway surface 2b of the inner ring 2 and the raceway surface 3b of the outer ring 3, respectively.
