<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a new game utilizing a microphone, which can be fully enjoyed even by a player of small lung capacity especially. <P>SOLUTION: The presence/absence of voice input is judged on the basis of a voice signal level input through the microphone, a variable for judging the voice input is increased when the presence of the voice input is judged, and the variable for judging the voice input is reduced when the absence of the voice input is judged. By comparing the variable for judging the voice input updated in such a manner with a prescribed threshold, voice input period information indicating whether or not voice is being input by a player is generated.
