PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor having an increased winding space and a compact motor, and to provide a fuel pump employing it. SOLUTION: A stator core 30 surrounding the outer circumference of the rotor of a brushless motor is constituted of six coil cores 32 arranged separately at regular intervals in the circumferential direction. The coil core 32 has teeth 34 extending in the radial direction, and an outer circumferential core 36 extending to the opposite sides in the circumferential direction on the radial outside of the teeth 34. Both end sides in the circumferential direction of the coil winding face 46 at the outside flange 44 of an insulator 40 are formed arcuately along the outer circumferential core 36, and the teeth 34 side of the coil winding face 46 is a plane extending along a virtual straight line 100. Teeth 34 side of the coil winding face 46 at the outside flange 44 of the insulator 40 is located on the radial outside of the virtual straight line 100 connecting the both ends in the circumferential direction of the inner circumferential surface 37 of the outer circumferential core 36.
