<p>An image projecting method and a projector are provided to project a projecting image changed in an aspect ratio or a resolution without carrying out setting a keystone correction again. In the projector, a projection range is set on an outside screen (projected plane) and a display-available region is set in a shape corresponding to an aspect ratio of an image to be projected and a resolution. The projector converts the coordinates of the display-available region to those of a screen coordinate system (projected plane coordinates) and generates a rectangular region with a desired aspect ratio in a region corresponding to the display-available region in the screen coordinate system and a portion included in the projecting range. The projector converts the coordinates of the rectangular region to those of a region corresponding to the rectangular region in a panel coordinate system and generates an image in a region corresponding to the rectangular region in an image forming panel (21), and projects a projecting image onto the screen.</p> |
