A method for processing a cylindrical inner surface and a member having the cylindrical inner surface processed by the method are provided to prevent exfoliation of a thermal spray coating at an axial end portion of a cylindrical inner surface when carrying out a mechanical finishing process such as honing on the thermal spray coating after forming a thermal spray coating on the cylindrical inner surface. In a processing method of a cylindrical inner surface comprising forming a thermal spray coating on a cylindrical inner surface of a member, and performing machining of the thermal spray coating, the processing method of the cylindrical inner surface is characterized in that the thermal spray coating on the cylindrical inner surface is formed such that an inner diameter of an axial end portion of the cylindrical inner surface is larger than inner diameters of other portions of the cylindrical inner surface. In a member(1) having a cylindrical inner surface(5) by subjecting the thermal spray coating to machining after forming a thermal spray coating(7) on the cylindrical inner surface, the member is characterized in that the thermal spray coating on the cylindrical inner surface is formed such that an inner diameter of an axial end portion of the cylindrical inner surface is larger than inner diameters of other portions of the cylindrical inner surface.
