The screw tightening device has body detection means (40) for detecting the upper end of the stroke of a feeder casing (32) in the screw feeding device (30), and the body detection means (40) shuts off an electric motor (11)(drive system), where the stroke of the feeder casing (32) is the distance in the direction of the screw tightening axis of the screw tightening device body (10) and is defined relative to a base casing (31).
