PORTABLE ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH

A portable electrocardiograph (1A) has a body unit (100) provided with a negative electrode and also has a removable unit (110) provided with a positive electrode and removably attached to the body unit (100). Both the negative electrode and the positive electrode are exposed when the removable unit (110) is attached to the body unit (100). In the portable electrocardiograph (1A), an electrocardiographic waveform can be measured both when the removable unit (110) is joined to the body unit (100) and when the removable unit (110) is removed from the body unit (100). To measure an electrocardiographic waveform using such an arrangement, a specific measuring posture can be selected from a plurality of measuring postures depending on situations, so that the portable electrocardiograph has an enhanced degree of freedom in measuring posture.
