<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a read protecting function such as CD and DVD, and a method for protecting sound recording equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The system has a data substrate with a control data zone and a data zone as the sound recording equipment, the control data zone has a plurality of blocks, and every block has a plurality of sectors. Every sector has a plurality of bytes. Also the data zone has encoded data. A control code is disposed in the control data zone. An optical storage device has mechanism for loading or reading the record medium. Also, the device identifies the control code, when the control code is identifiable, the device decodes the control code and outputs the decoded data.
