PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner facilitating attachment/removal of a compressor chamber part front plate. SOLUTION: An outer casing 1a having a compressor chamber 6 housing a compressor 6a is composed of a top board 3 arranged on a top face, a blow-out opening part front plate 5 provided on a blow-out opening 4, the compressor chamber part front plate 8 covering a front part of the compressor chamber 6, and a right side plate 9 covering a side face part. Substantially L-shaped locking pawls 10 are plurally provided on both side ends of the compressor chamber part front plate 8, engagement holes 11 engaging with the locking pawls 10 are respectively plurally provided on ends of the blow-out opening part front plate 5 and the right side plate 9, and a protruding part 12 is provided on a lower end of at least one locking pawl 10a. When inserting the locking pawl 10a into the engagement hole 11, the protruding part 12 is locked to a lower edge 11a of the engagement hole 11, and by this, temporary fixing of the compressor chamber part front plate 8 is easily carried out without disengagement of the locking pawl 10a from the engagement hole 11, and attachment/removal work can be easily carried out by one person without loosening.
