<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell that has a structure effective for preventing cell cracking likely to occur when a plurality of the solar cells are connected by interconnectors while preventing the warpage of the solar cells caused by the formation of a surface electrode and a back electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell is provided with a semiconductor substrate having a pn junction layer, the surface electrode formed in a peripheral edge region on the side of the light-receiving face of the semiconductor substrate, and the rear face electrode formed in a peripheral edge region on the side of the backside of the semiconductor substrate.
