<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a domain name system for providing a DNS service with a self managing (self operating) DDNS server so that the service can be utilized in a non-stationary IP address environment. <P>SOLUTION: A DDNS server 12 is provided in a network 10 using a center as a point, and routers 21, 31 as DDNS clients are provided in networks 20, 30 of each point, respectively. The DDNS server 12 includes a means for registering corresponding relation between each of the domain names of the DDNS clients 21, 31 and a global address; a means for responding to a request of name resolution from each of the DDNS clients; and a means for notifying the DDNS client of the DDNS server information including the global address when the global address of the DDNS server itself changes. The DDNS clients each have a means for registering (updating) the global address of the DDNS server upon receiving notification of the DDNS server information; and a means for inquiring the DDNS server about name resolution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
