<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic vapor discharge lamp capable of preventing the increase of the size of a lighting system while securing safety. <P>SOLUTION: When force including gravity and inertia force acts on a protective tube 11 in the axial direction of the protective tube 11 and toward the bottom of a protective tube 11, since the protective tube 11 is locked to a base 40, even when a heat-resistant adhesive for jointing the protective tube 11 to the base 40 completely drops depending on a use condition of a user when force including gravity and inertia force acts on the protective tube 11 in the longitudinal direction of the protective tube 11 and toward the bottom of the protective tube 11, the protective tube 11 can be prevented from easily dropping, whereby safety can be improved as compared with the case where the protective tube is simply jointed to the base by a heat-resistant adhesive, the need of installing a protective wall for securing safety on the lighting system side is obviated, and thereby increase of the size of the lighting system can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
