PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a condensing optical system, such as a light guide capable of preventing adhesion of dust to itself, due to static electricity using a simple configuration, and to provide an image reading apparatus capable of obtaining an image, without longitudinal stripes or the like, and with superior S/N and high quality. SOLUTION: In the condensing optical system, a light incident face 21a of the condensing optical system is formed with a transparent film 25, having charging characteristic that is opposite to the charging characteristic of the type of material configuring the face.
