PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen storage battery of which output power is not reduced but increased even if an area of an electrode plate is enlarged more than a prescribed size. SOLUTION: An electrode group of the nickel-hydrogen storage battery 4 is composed of an anode plate 8 containing non-water-soluble polymeric binder binding hydrogen storage alloy particle, having effective surface area per unit capacity of 70 cm2/Ah; a cathode plate 6 wound in swirl-shape together with the anode plate 8; and first and second separators 10a, 10b made of unwoven fabric of polyolefin based fiber, arranged between inner face and outer face of the cathode plate 6 and the anode plate 8 respectively. Preferably, at least one hydrophilic treatment selected from fluorine-gas treatment or the like is applied to the unwoven fabric of the first separator 10a, and sulfonation treatment is applied to the unwoven fabric of the second separator 10b.
