PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide firstly a pressure sensing element which ensures space savings and has a high electrical resistance value. SOLUTION: The pressure sensing element comprises: a nearly circular-shaped pressure-sensitive body which changes its electrical resistance value by the action of an external force; and a pair of lead wires connected to the periphery of the pressure-sensitive body. By thus forming the pressure-sensitive body in a circular shape and connecting the lead wires to the periphery thereof, the path of a current passing through the pressure-sensitive body is formed in a nearly circular shape, thereby eliminating the need to upsize the pressure-sensitive body unnecessarily compared to a case in which the same current path length is obtained by, for example, a rectangular pressure-sensitive body and increasing the electrical resistance value while ensuring space savings in the pressure-sensitive body. The shape of the pressure-sensitive body is appropriately selected in accordance with the use of the pressure sensing element and is not particularly restricted, but is desirable to be a nearly circular shape from the viewpoint of ease of manufacture.
